Biannual Forums FAQ

The VAEEC hosts two annual forums each year to provide our members with an opportunity to come together and learn about the latest in energy efficiency. These events offer a signature lineup of presentations on timely topics, interactive sessions, and ample networking time.

Who attends VAEEC events?

Our events bring together the diverse makeup of Virginia’s energy efficiency industry. Sectors represented include state agencies, local governments, Fortune 500 companies, utility providers, small businesses, nonprofits, and schools.

How many people attend?

Around 80 people attend our half-day Spring Forums, and approximately 115 attend our two-day, hybrid Energy Efficiency Forums.

Why should I attend?

VAEEC events are known for their educational and networking opportunities. Attendees come together and learn about the latest in energy efficiency with a specific focus on the industry here in Virginia. Our biannual forums offer a signature lineup of presentations on timely topics interactive sessions, and ample networking time. Our annual member business meeting is integrated into the Spring Forum. The Energy Efficiency Forum is paired with our Virginia Energy Efficiency Leadership Awards.

Do I have to be a member to attend?

No. While VAEEC members receive complimentary registrations, nonmembers are encouraged to attend for a nominal fee to learn more about the organization and Virginia’s energy efficiency industry.

How much does it cost to attend?

Members receive 1-5 complimentary registrations based on their current membership level. Registration costs $50 for nonmembers.

How do the two biannual forums differ?

The Spring Forum provides members the opportunity to participate in our annual business meeting where we elect new members to our Board of Directors, provide organizational updates, and spotlight our members’ successes. The fall Energy Efficiency Forum is paired with our Virginia Energy Efficiency Leadership Awards, our opportunity to highlight innovative projects and programs making significant strides in Virginia’s energy efficiency industry.

Otherwise, both events offer interactive sessions on timely topics and ample opportunities to network with the Mid-Atlantic’s leading energy efficiency professionals.

What is the event format?

The Spring Forum is a half-day, in-person event. The Energy Efficiency Forum is a two-day, hybrid event; day one is virtual and day two is in-person. The in-person events take place in the Richmond area to better accommodate the vast geographic makeup of our membership.

Are there sponsorship opportunities?

Yes! Sponsors allow us to provide top-rated events that advance energy efficiency across Virginia. As a show of appreciation, sponsors receive exposure before, during, and after the event, along with complimentary registrations.
