Nam is the Executive Director of Energy and Utilities, leading the Division of Campus Planning, Infrastructure, and Facilities at Virginia Tech. Nam oversees the production, delivery, and management of the university’s supply-side utilities and demand-side management programs, as well as the utility managers and daily operations. The division’s goal is to ensure that all service delivery areas are continuously improved to increase reliability and efficiency and contain cost, while meeting environmental and safety standards. He is responsible for the strategic development of the Utilities Master Plan, in support of the Climate Action Commitment and Campus Master Plan. Nam is also responsible for building effective formal and informal communication channels with customers and other university departments that are integral to the success of the division’s Facilities Operations and Capital Construction teams, as well as Environmental Health and Safety.
