Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia, Our February Featured Member Sigora Solar is the largest residential solar provider in Virginia and the top 30th residential installer in the US. Sigora was also named one of the fastest growing companies in the US by Solar Power World. In July of last year, Sigora won the award for the most Forward Thinking Contractor in the Country as voted by Solar Power World for their innovative Produce & Reduce package that includes a BPI GoldStar Energy Audit, Energy Efficiency Upgrades, PEARL Home Certification and a Double Money Back solar production.
Sigora further differentiates itself as a top company through its ‘One for One’ program running in Northwest Haiti. Through a collaboration with its sister company, Sigora Haiti and the non-profit Hummingbird Academy for Disaster Preparedness and Renewable Energies (HADPRE), Sigora provides electricity access to one home in Haiti for every residential installation performed in the U.S. For every commercial installation, Sigora provides a public building in Haiti with clean, reliable 24/7 electricity. This partnership has allowed for over 25,000 people to gain access to electricity. For the first time, these localities are booming and entrepreneurial activity continues to increase as people return to the region to start their own businesses.
Sigora’s mission is to help customers reduce their energy bills, sustain the quality of the environment, and contribute positively to the advancement of the clean energy economy worldwide.

The company’s unique ‘Produce and Reduce’ package includes a complimentary energy efficiency audit, performed by a BPI Goldstar-certified team, that identifies the home’s inefficiencies. Customers then receive same day customized energy efficiency upgrades to maximize their home’s performance and energy savings, along with a Pearl Home Certification, documenting all the improvements. No money down, low interest financing options, and production guarantees make Sigora’s ‘Produce and Reduce’ package accessible and affordable to all and allow homeowners to enjoy immediate monthly savings. With its proprietary Produce and Reduce package, Sigora marries in-depth energy efficiency with solar power to create a completely unique product offering in the industry.
Sigora has cemented its role as a dominant player in the solar industry after recently securing impressive procurements and national leadership roles in policy. Sigora was awarded the primary rooftop solar projects for Fairfax County. This is the largest solar PPA initiative by a local government in the state to date. Sigora also worked with Virginia Delegate Aird to pass legislation to establish a low-to-moderate income solar financing platform and the Clean Energy Advisory Board. Finally, Sigora’s Chief Policy & Development Officer Karla Loeb was elected as Chair of the Distributed Generation (DG) Division for the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), and also serves as MDV-SEIA’s Virginia DG policy chair heading into the 2020 Virginia legislative session.
