Join this free VAEEC webinar to learn about energy efficiency advancements in the agricultural sector.
For over 30 years, utilities have been advancing energy efficiency programs for their customers, mostly in the residential and C&I sector. The same holds true for electric cooperatives and their portfolio of programs for their member-owners. But there seems to be a group of members (customers) that potentially cross over both these lines – sometimes considered residential, sometimes considered commercial – and, as such, can be overlooked. It seems there has been a somewhat neglected sector: the agribusiness sector. Electric cooperatives have their roots in rural America, and specifically the farming community. Recognizing the need to do more, in 2012, Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) and its 9 Virginia distribution electric cooperatives collaborated with DMME, Exact Energy, James Madison University, US Dept of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS), USDA-Rural Development (USDA-RD), and Virginia Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) to develop a plan for offering information/education/opportunities for this important segment of our population.
During this webinar, Josh Ludgate of Exact Energy and Erin Puryear of ODEC will share what this plan has entailed, the challenges and successes and how they plan to move forward.
Speakers:
Erin O. Puryear; Manger, Member Services & Energy Innovation Planning, Old Dominion Electric Cooperative
Josh Ludgate; President and CEO, Exact Energy, Inc.
