The Virginia Energy Efficiency Council is happy to present our newly-revamped Virginia Energy Efficiency Leadership Awards on November 1st, in conjunction with our Energy Efficiency Forum in Richmond.
2022 is the seventh year in which we have honored individuals, organizations, and companies for their energy efficiency achievements. This year, to better recognize industry champions, we’re expanding our awards. These awards showcase how energy efficiency leaders across the Commonwealth are helping businesses, governments, homeowners, and schools save money on energy bills while reducing energy consumption – all while stimulating job growth and our economy.
Nominations will be categorized as either projects or programs. This includes, but is not limited to, retrofits, new construction, innovative technologies or products, or energy management, auditing, or financing programs. View our 2021 Awards page to see the projects that won last year.
The application period will run from Friday, July 1st through Thursday, September 1st – APPLY HERE! Before submitting an application, please read the sections below. All nominated projects or programs must be in Virginia, but implementing entities can be from out of state. Nominated projects must already be completed, and nominated programs must already be offered.
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions related to the application process or awards ceremony. Best of luck!
Anyone who submits an application will receive one complimentary registration to the 2022 Energy Efficiency Forum, our hybrid, two-day event.
All eligible entries will be honored during the awards ceremony and on the VAEEC website and social media platforms and with a certificate of recognition. Those selected to receive a leadership award will receive further recognition through the event program, personalized features on the VAEEC website and social media platforms, and with a glass award.
The application can be found here. Contact email@example.com with any questions related to the application process or Awards ceremony. Best of luck!
We encourage applicants to provide as much detail as possible. Projects and programs will only be graded based on the information provided in the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
The main consideration for scoring will be the impact or the potential impact of the nominee’s efforts on reducing overall energy use.

Scorecards will be used to grade each project and program on the same merits. You can view the scorecard here.
